Our small team is working on a prototype of a holistic settlement in which we integrate the maximum possible of sustainable engineering solutions that we advocate for. This is a way that we are using for guiding the project Garden-Generator in order to build our Dream Team and to develop our skills & knowledge.
This specific prototype that we are working on is a tourisitic complex designed for ecological tourism, a kind of hightech-eco-village in rural areas away from the noise of the city and in the middle of a natural environment. The goal of it is to fuse tradition with modernity by integration advanced technology in traditional architecture, harnessing advantages from the past and the present in order to contribute to the creation of a better future.
This prototype is entended to be proposed for the markets of Morocco, Spain, Portugal and France. The idea of building neighborhoods or villages that has the potential to evolve for centuries into the future, a multigenerational engagement, is at the heart of the garden generator project.

KASBAH3000 or KASBAH of the third millennium is a living prototype of a regenerative human settlement, it is a fully integrated model blending heritage with state of the art technology.
The following are some characteristics of it:
- Sustainable Engineering and Architecture (Modernization of Riad, moroccanization of Earthship, using the model of closed-loop system where waste (Bio and water) is resource etc.);
- Local Materials and Ecological Design (Passive buildings, rammed earth, regenerative agriculture etc.);
- Renewable Energy(Hybrid solar and wind energy supply + hydrogen electrolysis and PSHP energy storage etc.);
- Internal Management System via our innovative General Durability Matrix (See website).
It is a unique interdisciplinary foundation that combines engineering, landscape management, and interdisciplinary sciences.
Target market: Ecological tourism and sustainable real estate, especially in rural, mountainous, and coastal desert areas in Morocco, Spain, Portugal and the South of France and beyond, these areas are the most suitable for our project in order to ensure high ROI for investors and communities while demonstrating solutions that has potential to regenerate our nurturing planet.
Riad Building Model
As Moroccans we are proud of our architectural and cultural heritage, unfortunately modern unsustainable architecture and engineering is taking over the vast majority of current investments.
Modern engineering lacks wisdom, it does not include many aspects of durability. In order to make a sustainable use of modern engineering, as a startup we are looking at fusing old & new engineering to ensure sustainable development of our civilization. The rapid loss of heritage and of local craftsmanship due to many reasons, one main reason is the exchange of traditional cultures for the benefit of an extractive and consumption-oriented modern society which has shown to be without doubt an unsustainable way of life. The garden generator project stimulate culture by modernizing the application of traditions and indigenous practices, it is an approach to technological development while preserving valuable traditions.
Earthship Building Model
The main consulting services of the startup Garden-Generator are related to durable construction and housing in rural areas. The durable housing units of the startup are inspired by the innovative work of Mr. Reynolds in the USA and his Earthship concept.
Earthships are based on 6 core principles:
1. Building with maximum Natural and Recycled Materials.
2. Passive Solar and Thermal Heating & Cooling.
3. Solar and Wind Electricity.
4. Water Harvesting.
5. Contained Sewage Treatment.
6. Integrated Food Production.
Kasba
A Kasba in Morocco is a fortified, traditional dwelling or citadel, often built of mud-brick, and serving as a defensive stronghold or residence for local leaders. These structures were historically crucial for protection against attacks and played a role in local governance and community life.
In this particular holistic settlment proposition that we are working on, the Garden Generator startup is striving for the construction of a prototype based on the fusion of Riad & Earthship building models in which heritage meets self-sufficiency. The integration of the latest technologies and the use of indiginous knowledge is our way of designing the future of construction. The Kasba prototype is for scientific research and touristic purposes.
Vertical Axis Wind Turbines
Blending tradition with innovation, they are quietly spinning atop earthen towers, bringing clean, silent energy to spaces rooted in heritage.
Unlike traditional wind turbines with large horizontal blades, Vertical Axis Wind Turbines (VAWTs) spin around a vertical shaft. They’re smaller, quieter, and can capture wind from any direction, making them perfect for low-wind or unpredictable environments — including rural Moroccan conditions.
Solar Thermal Water Heating Fields
This engineering solution turns free sunlight into hot water, saving money and reducing pollution— it provides a reliable, cost-effective way to meet everyday needs.
Unlike solar panels that produce electricity, solar thermal collectors absorb the sun’s heat to directly warm water. In a solar thermal field, multiple collectors feed into a large, insulated storage tank. Hot water is then piped to nearby homes, providing showers, washing, and cleaning day and night, even on cloudy days.
PV Solar Power
Solar power is the core energy source in the Garden Generator system. This presentation focuses on: Why Morocco is ideal for solar generation. How solar power works and its system design principles. How it integrates into the complete hydrogen energy cycle.
Photovoltaic (PV) effect: Sunlight excites electrons in silicon cells, generating DC electricity. System Components: Output is managed by inverters and charge controllers for stable use or storage. The Foundation: This process is a clean and silent engine that will supply energy to many the Garden Generator projects.
Hydrogen Storage System
While Morocco has world-class sun, solar production varies seasonally. Batteries can handle daily fluctuations, but cannot bridge the multi-week energy gap between high-production summers and lower-production winters. Hydrogen is designed for this long-duration storage, ensuring year-round reliability.
Excess DC electricity from solar panels powers an electrolyzer, splitting water into oxygen and pure hydrogen gas. Produced hydrogen is compressed and stored in secure, high-pressure gas bottles for long-duration chemical energy storage.
Redox Flow

It will work alongside hydrogen electrolysis and pumped hydropower to keep the lights on, the gardens
green, and the future bright.
In the quest for reliable, sustainable, and scalable energy solutions, redox flow batteries (RFBs) have emerged as a game-changing technology - and at the heart of the Garden Generator project, they are playing a central role. Alongside hydrogen electrolysis and pumped storage hydropower, redox flow batteries account for 50% of the total energy storage capacity of the system, making them a cornerstone of this eco-conscious design.
Pumped Storage Hydropower
PSH offers a solution rooted in nature’s own forces — gravity and water — and helps us imagine resilient villages that store clean energy without polluting their environment.
At Garden-Generator, we dream of living spaces that feed, shelter, and empower people — while regenerating the land that hosts them. Clean energy is at the heart of this vision. But renewable sources like the sun and wind have one challenge: they are not always available when we need them.
Solid Waste
Treatment
As a part of our commitment to building self-sustaining, circular systems to be implemented to minimize landfill dependency and make the most of every discarded item.
In a world struggling with mounting waste, the Garden Generator project stands apart by designing a system that doesn't just manage solid waste — it transforms it. Through intelligent sorting, on-site recycling, and nature-based strategies, the initiative aims to drastically reduce landfill load and close the loop on resource use.
Agroforestry
A regenerative approach to farming that brings trees, people, and the planet back into harmony, it is a solution that can be engineered in way to be productive and environmentaly friendly.
It is a land-use system where trees, crops, and animals are integrated on the same land, creating a resilient, multi-layered ecosystem. Unlike monoculture farming, which depletes the soil and water, agroforestry works with nature, not against it. Trees provide shade, fix nutrients, retain water, prevent erosion, and offer fruits, wood, medicine, and habitat — all while farming continues around and beneath them.
Schwimmteich (Garden Pond)
water from daily rituals becomes part of a regenerative loop, nourishing both people and the land in Garden-Generator projects.
A Schwimmteich, or Garden pond, is a self-purifying, chemical-free body of water designed for swimming and supporting biodiversity. It uses gravel beds, aquatic plants, and microorganisms to clean the water — much like nature does in lakes and rivers. It's made of two main zones: Swimming zone and regeneration zone.
Passive ventilation systems
These are a natural ways to regulate indoor climate without relying on electricity. By channeling fresh air from the outside, the system uses the earth’s stable temperature to cool in summer and warm in winter bringing comfort, sustainability, and health to homes like those in the Garden Generator project.
In a world where buildings are often cooled with machines that consume vast amounts of energy, passive ventilation stands out as a greener, more intelligent alternative. By harnessing the simple forces of wind and temperature differences, this system keeps indoor environments fresh and comfortable—without the hum of air conditioners or the burden of high energy bills. It is a design philosophy that connects architecture with nature, ensuring that comfort and sustainability go hand in hand.
Rain water harvesting
water is part of a regenerative loop, nourishing both people and the land in Garden-Generator projects.
Rainwater harvesting involves collecting and storing rainwater from rooftops, paved areas, or open land surfaces. It reduces dependence on groundwater or municipal water systems while providing a free and renewable water source for domestic use, irrigation, and even aquaponic systems in the Garden Generator prototype.
